A complete digital debut for a B&B in the heart of Sicily: from the logo to the bilingual IT/EN WordPress architecture. Since launch, Villa Masami has seen more direct booking requests, without relying only on Booking and Agoda.

Villa Masami is a B&B in Favara, Agrigento province, a few kilometres from the Valley of the Temples. Rooms with independent keypad access, well-kept outdoor spaces, warm family hospitality. Yet before this project, it had no online presence whatsoever — no website, no visual identity, nothing. The property collected bookings through major platforms but had no voice of its own.
Carnova's brief was clear: build everything from zero, with full creative freedom. The goal was not merely to create a website, but to give the property a coherent, recognisable identity that could live online and offline, in Italian and English, and convert visitors into guests.
The project started with identity — where every brief should begin. Working with full creative freedom, the starting intuition was to merge the M and V of Villa Masami into a single geometric pictogram, reusable as icon, favicon, and decorative element. The logo — approved on the second of two proposals — captures the property's minimalist elegance without resorting to Sicilian clichés. Clean, scalable, instantly recognisable at any size, from business card to signage.
From there, I built the entire visual system: a warm palette inspired by the stones and light of the Agrigento countryside, typography balancing warmth and clarity, a reassuring and direct tone of voice. With more graphic freedom than any previous project, I was able to make compositional choices I would previously have tempered. The result is an identity that feels Sicilian without being folkloristic — elegant without being cold.
The site is built on WordPress with a visual builder, chosen to allow the client to manage content independently over time. I designed every single view — from homepage to room details — ensuring perfect mobile responsiveness and a bilingual IT/EN architecture that immediately positioned the property in the international tourism market.
Technical completion took around two weeks. Launch timing extended due to client-side factors — typical with family-run hospitality properties where operational priorities take over. But this allowed refinement of details and delivery of a more polished product. Since the site went live, Villa Masami has seen measurable growth in social media presence and an increase in direct booking enquiries — no longer relying exclusively on the major booking platforms.
Villa Masami went from zero online presence to a bilingual site that generates direct bookings, without relying only on the portals. For me it was the first project with total creative freedom — and the proof that it works.
